To specify a hose assembly you need to identify the length of the assembly and the type and orientation of the end fittings.

The following diagrams of hose assemblies with different combinations of end fittings explains the points from which you should measure your hose assembly.

If your hose assembly has elbows (e.g. 45° or 90°) end fittings at both ends, you will need to specify the orientation of the end fittings. Hold the assembly with the fitting nearest to you pointing down and measure the angle to the other fitting in an anticlockwise direction as indicated in the following diagram.
